Privacy Policy
This document describes what Lahn collects and how it's used, in plain language. If you have any question this page doesn't answer, contact us directly at support@lahn.app.
Who we are
Lahn ("we," "us," "our") is a personal fragrance wardrobe application. This policy applies to the Lahn mobile app and to lahn.app.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, handled through Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password in readable form.
Content you add. The fragrances you log, your wear history, ratings, notes, and any preferences you provide during onboarding (such as favorite scent families or how you typically wear fragrance) are stored so the app can function and personalize recommendations for you.
Location. With your permission, we use your device's location to fetch local weather conditions, which factor into your daily recommendations. We do not store a history of your precise location — only the current conditions needed to generate that day's picks.
Usage data. Basic technical information (such as app version and general device type) may be collected to help us diagnose issues and improve reliability.
How we use your information
- To operate your account and sync your wardrobe across sessions
- To generate weather-aware, preference-aware daily recommendations
- To send you optional local notifications about your picks (these are scheduled on your own device, not sent from a server)
- To maintain and improve the app's reliability and performance
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Third-party services we use
Lahn relies on a small number of service providers to function:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and database storage for your account and wardrobe data.
- Weather data provider — supplies current conditions based on your device's location, used only to generate that day's recommendations.
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy and security practices, and only receives the minimum information needed to perform their specific function.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app, under Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account and personal data from our systems, except where we're legally required to retain certain records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can manage most of this directly in the app, or reach out to support@lahn.app for anything else.
Children's privacy
Lahn is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard practices, including encrypted connections and Firebase's built-in security infrastructure, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly in the app.
